"The 7-Series is BMW's flagship luxury sedan that is redesigned for 2007. Still offered in regular and extended wheelbase versions, both the 750i and 750Li are powered by a 400-horsepower 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine. The styling of the 7-Series continues to evolve after the fourth-generation 7-Series debuted in 2002 with controversial new styling. The fourth 7-Series was also the most high-tech vehicle to be offered by BMW up to that time and new technology including the equally controversial iDrive which integrated many vehicle functions into a single controller in the center console. The 7-Series continues for feature the latest high-technology features. The 7-Series was first introduced to the U.S. in 1986 and the fourth-generation 7-Series has proven to also be the most successful 7-Series ever.
The 2009 BMW 7-Series debuts the fifth-generation 7-Series with new exterior styling, more interior room and improvements in both driving dynamics and comfort. The 750i and the 750Li with a 5.5 inch longer wheelbase are both powered by a new twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 engine that produces 400 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Standard Driving Dynamics Control offers different settings shock firmness, transmission shift characteristics, throttle response and power-steering assist with four different modes: Comfort, Normal, Sport and Sport Plus.
