"The Infiniti FX is Infiniti's sporty and performance-oriented crossover SUV that receives its first major redesign for the 2009 model year. The first Infiniti FX debuted in early 2003 with a design which closely resembled the second-generation FX45 concept that was described by Infiniti as a 'bionic cheetah.' With an aerodynamic but rigid body structure, the FX is still lightweight body structure and continues to feature an extensive list of available equipment and technology. An industry-first safety technology that debuts on the FX is Distance Control Assist which reduces the challenge of driving in heavy traffic by releasing the throttle and applying the brakes to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead.
The all-new 2009 Infiniti FX is offered as the FX50 with all-wheel drive and the FX35 with either all-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive. The FX50 is powered by a new 390-horsepower 5.0-liter V8 combined with a new 7-speed automatic transmission which features Adaptive Shift Control and available solid magnesium paddle shifters. The FX35 is powered by a 303-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 also mated with the 7-speed automatic transmission. Available equipment and technology includes Continuous Damping Control, Rear Active Steer, 21-inch super lightweight aluminum-alloy wheels designed by Enkei, an 11-speaker Bose-developed audio system, Infiniti Intelligent Key, available Intelligent Cruise Control (Full Speed Range) and available Around View Monitor system. Also available is Intelligent Brake Assist (IBA), which provides forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking, along with a Lane Departure Warning/Lane Departure Prevention system. 2009 Infiniti FX equipment packages include the Technology Package, Infiniti Mobile Entertainment Package, Premium Package, Navigation Package, Deluxe Touring Package, Sport Package and 21-inch Summer Tires."
